Electrocardiogram (ECG)
Electrocardiogram (ECG) is electrocardiography, one of the methods of assessing the condition of the heart, which allows you to record its electrical potentials. With the help of such diagnostics, it is possible to detect problems of heart conduction, find cicatricial and infarction foci, overload of chambers, and their hypertrophy. Electrocardiography allows you to perform operational monitoring of various diseases and evaluate the effectiveness of their treatment. This technique is simple and accessible and is often performed ECG at rest, which allows you to find the causes:
- unpleasant sensations behind the chest;
- accelerated (or vice versa) heartbeat;
- breathing problems;
- chronic fatigue and etc.
The ECG rate in a perfectly healthy person will be as follows:
- Heart rate (heart rate) - 60-80 beats / min (beats per minute).
- The type of heart rhythm is sinusoidal.
- RR interval - 0.6-1.2 sec.
- PR-interval - 120-200 ms.
- ST-interval - 320 ms.
- QT interval - up to 420 ms.
- Tooth P - 80 ms.
- T-wave - 160 ms.
- Tooth J - no.
The above indicators are valid only for a healthy adult. For adolescents and children, the numbers will vary and depend on age.
WHICH DISEASES ALLOW TO DIAGNOSIS ECG
In the process of electrocardiography, a specialist can detect the following heart diseases:
- Sinus arrhythmia. In certain situations, such arrhythmia is considered normal in adolescents and children. In other cases, it speaks of a physiological disorder and requires constant monitoring by a cardiologist, especially if the patient has a history of predisposition to cardiovascular disease.
- Sinus bradycardia. This disorder slows the heart rate to 50 beats per minute (approximately). Usually, such conditions are diagnosed in professional athletes and sleeping people. In all other cases, sinus bradycardia indicates some kind of heart disease.
- Extrasystole. One of the defects of heart rhythm manifests itself in the form of an excessive (or rare) heartbeat. On the part of the patient, this problem manifests itself in the form of unpleasant sensations such as shocks in the chest, tingling, a feeling of emptiness in the stomach, frequent attacks of unreasonable fear.
- Sinus tachycardia. In this disease, the heart rate is from 90 beats/min and more. In healthy people, sinus tachycardia occurs with excessive stress on the nervous system or during exercise, as well as after drinking alcohol, strong tea, coffee, energy drinks, etc. In such situations, tachycardia is temporary. But often patients note its episodic manifestations, not associated with any load. Moreover, often in a state of absolute rest.
- Paroxysmal tachycardia. Manifested by an increase in heart rate. This tachycardia also has sporadic manifestations - attacks last from several minutes to days. Pulse in paroxysmal tachycardia can "scale" up to 200-250 beats/min.
- WPW syndrome. One of the types of supraventricular tachycardia. Manifested in the form of increased heart rate and the feeling that the heart freezes, there is a lack of air. Also with this syndrome, patients often lose consciousness, suffer from shortness of breath and dizziness.
- CLC. Another pathological condition is accompanied by an increase in heart rate.
- Atrial fibrillation. The disease can be chronic and manifest itself in the form of seizures. The patient complains of various heartbeats, fear, and panic attacks (rare).
Of course, electrocardiography helps diagnose many other heart diseases. But all of them, without exception, require therapeutic monitoring by a cardiologist. When diagnosing any heart disease, a systematic ECG is recommended. It should also be understood that certain diagnoses are made by doctors only after a comprehensive examination of the body, and not just the ECG.
ECG DECODING
During the ECG of the heart, a continuous curved line with various alphanumeric values is displayed on the equipment monitor. The transcript of electrocardiography itself is an analysis of all the data obtained, which can be performed only by a professional cardiologist. But, this interpretation will also be clear to the therapist.
After the analysis of the work of the heart muscle, in the interpretation of the ECG, you need to pay attention to such important parameters as:
- ECG heart rate.
- Teeth.
- Intervals.
- Segments.
We have already read the normal parameters of the electrocardiogram above and we need to understand that they are extremely accurate. That is, even the slightest deviation from the norm can indicate any pathology and can be ruled out only by an experienced doctor. He finds and evaluates the shape of the teeth, their size, and the intervals between them. He also evaluates the rhythm and behavior of the heart - the regularity and frequency of contractions. The doctor then looks for the rotation of the heart around its axis and draws a conclusion.
Why when interpreting the ECG may be incorrect data, and why do you need to consider other indicators of the human body:
- the patient is in a certain condition that may affect performance (eg, childbearing);
- any individual indicators should not be a reason for a conclusion, because the interpretation of the ECG - is a complex process, which takes into account many other indicators;
- in some cases, only those indicators that were obtained under certain conditions (for example, ECG in dynamics or with load) can be informative.
Only an expert can decipher the ECG as accurately as possible. Therefore, we do not recommend that you compare your performance with the benchmark and think that you are sick of something because the state of the heart can affect other human systems and organs. Entrust this work to a professional.
ECG PRICES IN THE SVITYAZ COMPLEX
Electrocardiograms are performed quite often in our Svityaz health complex. This uses special medical high-precision equipment that can detect even the smallest deviations from the norm in the work of the heart muscle. The cost of the procedure is quite low and we have it conducted by experienced experts. If you want to know the exact price of the ECG, then just contact the manager and he will advise you on any questions regarding this procedure.
ECG REVIEWS
Literally, in all cases, feedback on the procedure is positive. After all, it is carried out painlessly and quickly. And since the interpretation is performed by an expert cardiologist with extensive experience, patients are always satisfied with the results of his work (in terms of the accuracy of the diagnosis or refutation when any heart disease is suspected).
